Information on Foot and Mouth Disease

Dear Group Leader,

RE - Foot and Mouth Outbreak

I am writing to inform you of our current position in the light of the recent outbreak of Foot and Mouth disease.

As a centre we are able to be self contained we now have an on site lake for watersports as well as the beach. Therefore we do not have animals at risk of FMD on our premises or even within the county of Ceredigion. We have taken advice from Department of Education and the Ministry of Agriculture and the guiding principle is that centres such as ours are not affected. The main thing is to avoid farmland and public footpaths which will only affect a couple of the activities which we offer. This means that Llain is open for business as usual.

We all hope that this problem will be over well ahead of your visit to Llain, however, we felt that we should reassure you and let you know that the centre is preparing for the season ahead.
